I am passionate about the club’s mission, direction, and success for years to come. I believe I can contribute toward it in an impactful way.

  • Mr. Duane and Winchester Country Club Members,

I write this letter, accompanied by my resume, to express interest in the open Board positions in 2024. In the back half of my 3rd year as a member at Winchester Country Club, I have developed a sincere interest to assist with the club’s success in any way that I can.

I am fortunate to bring a diverse level of experience in non-profit and for-profit organizational management. Most relevant, in my previous role at Blue Ridge United, I showed my ability to work alongside an excellent Board of Directors to build a successful and sustainable organization. In my tenure as Executive Director, membership grew by 80% and we forged a partnership with the City of Winchester to build a state-of-the-art facility at Jim Barnett Park. We also significantly improved our image in the local community and saw a tremendous increase in corporate sponsorships during my time at the club. I truly enjoy working alongside a capable team to grow and improve an organization and believe I could be a valuable addition to do just that.

With a young family, I plan to be part of Winchester Country Club for many years to come. I would be grateful for an opportunity to help shape the future of this club and appreciate the current Board and club members’ consideration.

    Sincerely,
    Dustin Butcher

  • Dear Winchester Country Club Member,

Since I became a member a few years ago, my appreciation for the club, other members, and the staff has continued to grow. Each time I drive up the hill and pass the pool, I think about how fortunate my family is to be a small part of the WCC. I feel my positive attitude, youthful energy, love of golf, and business background would be a continued asset to the club’s board. My goal as a board member would be to help continue the club’s upward trajectory. We are so lucky to have access to top-notch facilities at such a reasonable price. With the current economic environment, I expect it will be a great challenge to deliver the same member experience over the coming years. There will be a lot of tough decisions that need to be made, and my financial background and ability to communicate and connect with others will be very valuable.

I look forward to serving our club now and in the future as a board member, committee member, or any other way membership sees fit.

    Sincerely,
    Drew M. Forte

  • Dear Winchester Country Club Member,

I have had the opportunity to be associated with Winchester Country Club since 1994. First, as a long-time employee of the golf shop with Glenn Kelley during high school and college, and later as a member of the Club for almost 20 years. I believe my experience over the years and my professional resume provide a unique insight into how to further the Club’s mission and contribute to improving our membership experience. Most importantly, as equity members, I believe we need to be properly represented to ensure our interests are well served now and into the future.

    Sincerely,
    John Willingham

  • Hello from Carroll B. Correll, Sr.,

As background, I have been a member of WCC since 1993. In addition, in the mid-1990s, I served on the Greens Committee. I am proud to be a member of a family-centric country club. It is the “Full Monty” of what we are and, with continuous process improvements, what we could be. I so appreciate the management and focus of Steve and his crew, with particular attention to the children of family members.

I was able to build a consensus within the Committee to keep the integrity of the hole. You might have noticed there is no sand trap beside the pine tree. Also, as a club, we lost our focus on a couple of holes since the start of 2000 (#2, for example). We can never let down our guard!

The food program is good, in my opinion. However, after attending a lawyer meeting, one of them confided to me that the food was the worst they had ever gotten at WCC. I believe this was an anomaly, but it indicates that quality control should be a continuous process.

I hope, when you read my resume, you will notice the word “Serve,” for that is what I do.

    Carroll Correll, Sr., “Percy”
