Gravas Sauternes is a blend of 100% Sémillon. The wine shows a lovely pale golden color with deep golden highlights. Round and well-balanced offering complex aromas of candied fruits backed up by a hint of exotic fruit (mango, guava) and white flowers. On the palate, it is ample and fleshy, leading into a silky and long finish.
Creamy, fragrant, with a pleasant fine bubble and a finish which is particularly fresh
The 2022 Blue Eyed Boy is impressively deep in colour, displaying vibrant dark purple hues. Its aromatic profile is both intricate and inviting, with scents of blueberry, fresh plum, and subtle hints of mocha cream bursting from the glass. This wine is a balance of strength and finesse, delivering layers of lush, fresh berries and a touch of aniseed spice, culminating in a final note of creamy chocolate. With generous and dynamic layers, the wine allows the gentle tannins to craft a smooth and enduring finish, ensuring a truly memorable experience.
The 2022 Gigglepot Cabernet is filled with the fragrances of forest fruit, blackcurrant, and a subtle note of freshly roasted coffee. As you savour it, you’ll uncover a complex blend of flavours, with hints of blackberry, a touch of cigar, and delicate spices. This delightful taste experience is enhanced by a rich chocolate creaminess, gentle tannins, and a smooth finish.
Rich and deep, the 2021 Boxer is both elegant and powerful, with beautiful notes of fresh plum, mocha and liquorice lifting out of the glass. A soft plummy mouthfeel, well measured tannins and slightly toasted oak compliment the rich fruit, creating a wine with many layers.
Sweet and tart with bright, festive cranberry colors, aromas and flavors, with an added sparkle. St. James Winery’s Sparkling Cranberry Wine offers refreshing, fresh cranberry acidity with a nice, long cranberry finish. The perfect sparkling wine for any festive occasion or holiday party! Available for a limited time.
Its deep purple is followed by a ripe, expansive Cabernet that has loads of plum and currant fruit, notes of leafy herbs and earth, a broad, expansive mouthfeel and a great finish. It has the texture and purity to shine today, yet is going to evolve gracefully for 15+ years.
Based on 65% Grenache and the rest Mourvèdre and Syrah, the 2019 Gigondas Terrasse De Montmirail is deeper purple hue and offers more smoky black and blue fruits, roasted garrigue, licorice, and ground pepper. Made in a more focused, masculine style, with notable minerality, it’s medium-bodied, has a solid mid-palate, and a great finish. It’s going to benefit from a year or three of bottle age but is unquestionably going to be an outstanding wine.
An elegant chardonnay layered with grace and complexity. Aromas of ripe pear, pineapple, and exotic tropical fruit lead to notes of honeycomb, toasted wood, and warm pie crust. Richly round with a silky creaminess, the satisfying finish features traces of butterscotch and lemon meringue.
A silky scarlet red with luminous highlights, this wine opens with a lean earthiness—the scent of rustic wood mixes with sweet spice, a whiff of cigar box, dusty pavement and old leather, infused with garden ripe strawberries and cherries. The palate is smooth and lively, featuring flavors of juicy raspberry, the subtle tartness of cranberry, and notes of espresso and smoked meat. Underlying acidity makes this wine mouthwatering, while its tannins lend a gritty yet softly fine texture. On the finish: a trace of vibrant cranberry, luxurious cocoa and an extra kick of spice.
Highly aromatic, it wafts a perfume of honeysuckle, orchard blossom and fuzzy peach skin. The palate is more viscous than the nose implies, but there’s enough acidity to keep it fresh. Peach and lemon flavors linger on the finish. Drink with Thai curry or a similarly bold Southeast Asian dish.
Light and bright lemon yellow color. Soft, subtle mineral notes are wrapped up in aromatics of melon and citrus. Tropical fruit, citrus and spice aromas and flavors, with vibrant acidity and minerality.
This méthode cap classique (South African fizz made in the same way as Champagne) from SA stalwart Graham Beck has a lovely creamy red fruit and apple character, with a rich mousse and brioche finish. It has a vibrant raspberry acidity and a long finish.
Abadia de San Campio clearly displays the unique characteristics of the Galician terroir. Clean aromas of ripe grapefruit, lemons and other citrus are accompanied by soft notes of tropical fruit, ripe peach and delicate aromas of confectioner‘s custard. Perfectly balanced on the palate, this wine is unctuous and characteristically vibrant with a lively acidity and a long finish.
On the nose, metallic notes come from pennies and cranberries, while bricks and herbs provide warmth. Vibrant fruit and tea flavors create an astringent palate, but an essence of cherry and vanilla preserves softness. Tannins and acidity are perfectly in harmony.
This wine often has an exotic, lavender-like aroma, with suggestions of wild cherries, huckleberry, ginger, allspice, black tea and freshly ground black pepper. The flavors are generous and rich, matched by an attractive suppleness and mix of fruity and savory elements.
This wine is bone dry, loaded with fresh minerality. It’s bright and crisp, with flavors both complex and rich. You might find aromas of white blossoms, or fresh apples and pears with hints of peach pit and bitter almond with an integrated creaminess thanks to judicious lee stirring.
Christmas Town Red is a smooth, fruity blend of the California Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes. The wine is garnet-colored with cherry and black currant aromas and bright cherry flavor on the palate.
As it turns out, the Cabernet Sauvignon grape is the result of the spontaneous crossing of the red wine grape Cabernet Franc and the white wine grape Sauvignon Blanc, probably in the 1700’s.
J Brut Rosé opens with layered characteristics of ripe raspberries, rose petals and a savory note of slivered almonds. The palate is elegant and flavorful, with notes of fresh mandarin orange, roasted strawberries and crème fraîche. Lively acidity and steely minerality frame a crisp, lingering finish. Pair this elegant sparkling rosé with traditional Spanish seafood paella, salmon tartare or camembert with candied kumquats and lavender almonds.
Our J Cuvée 20 Brut Magnum opens with appealing, delicate aromas of orange blossom, honeysuckle and Anjou pear. A sparkling wine with beautiful depth and nuance, the layered, vibrant palate has notes of lemon meringue, Georgia peach, wild raspberry and dried cranberry, with hints of caramel, slivered almond candied ginger and Danish pastry developed over years of aging en tirage.
Floral aromas of rose petal and violet are complemented on the velvet-smooth palate by generous fruit notes of cherry, ripe strawberry and baked plum. Deeper hints of gingerbread, forest floor, soft leather and slate add intriguing complexity to this appealing, beautifully balanced Pinot Noir.
Appealing aromas of florals and citrus open at first pour, while the layered, flavorful palate adds notes of white peach, pear, pineapple and fresh-cut Meyer lemon. Subtle accents of toasted hazelnut, vanilla and gingersnap add rich complexity and depth, a hallmark of the wine’s French oak aging.
Generous aromas of ripe melon, floral honeysuckle and jasmine on the nose give this wine an appealingly expressive start. Smooth and incredibly flavorful on the mouth, offering richness and depth at the mid-palate as layered notes of juicy pear, white peach, ripe citrus and sweet green apple are contrasted by hints of florals and minerality. The wine’s bright, lively acidity brings a delightfully crisp and refreshing finish. Enjoy this food-friendly Pinot Gris alongside raw oysters on the half-shell with pickled green strawberry mignonette or, for a heartier choice, pan-roasted pork chops with a peach chutney. For a cheese pairing, try with crescenza cheese topped with fresh peach and basil.
Complex and elegant. Notes of strawberry, plum, cherry, spice, meat, garrigue, and earth. Big and chewy on the palate, with good acidity and a tangy, persistent finish.
A pale gold with green hue in color, the wine displays an aromatic bouquet of green apple, pear, white peach, husk cherries and lily. It is medium-bodied with a nice, rich mouthfeel that is round and creamy without being opulent, while a bright acidity at the finish keeps it nice and refreshing.
An impression of freshness as delicate as the bubbles are fine. A wine with a balanced texture. Stone fruit (quince, pear, apple and almost-candied lemon zest). A straightforward and refined wine, with a wonderful persistence in the mouth, crunchy like a thin caramel biscuit.
With complex aromas of raspberry, plum, white chocolate and a touch of smoky earth, it is rich and layered with spicy dark fruit, chocolate and silky tannins.
The first impression when swirling a large glass followed by an aggressive sip is the size and scope of the wine. Affinity used to charm from the moment it took off its shoes at the door.
Dark, explosive cassis fruit, lead pencil, spice box, and fresh tobacco play on the palate and in the aroma. As always, we’ve worked to make sure that the wine has kept its smooth, broad mouthfeel despite its age worthiness. Careful fermentation and farming for resolved tannins allow this wine to be enjoyed while young, but the cellar will reveal its true nature in a few years.
This is a tremendous red wine. We recommend a cellar stock up here, as the small production (70% lower than average for this wine) and the high QPR (Quality/Price Ratio) will make it obsolete soon in availability. We look forward to your comments.
