A Letter from our General Manager
Hello All and welcome to 2024!
During the time the club is closed (January 1 - January 8th, re-opening on Tuesday, January 9th) we will be performing a much needed deep cleaning in various areas of the clubhouse as well as some painting. Some other projects around the club include Bart’s crew completing bunker work, tree removal, as well as other “normal” maintenance procedures on the course. The order to replace the walking bridge on 10 has been placed with work to be completed in the Spring. A second greens roller is also in the works. Andy is putting the finishing touches on the 2024 Golf Handbook, which should be out to membership in early January and the Tennis calendar is near completion.
The ladies tennis locker room will be getting a “re-fresh” in the coming months as well as the retail offerings in the Tennis Pro Shop. Lastly, several months ago we launched a new front-end version of our website that was put in place while we completed the full website overhaul. The new website will strive to streamline many of the areas that our members use frequently as well as clean up a lot of the clutter that has built up over the last 5 years. It will be much more comprehensive, accessible and maintained with current, useful information. Once the site is live and running smoothly, we will be launching a new reservation system that will integrate seamlessly into our website and our members, offering calendar integration, reservation reminders, and the ability to modify your reservation on your own. We are all very excited about this and we are certain that these improvements will only improve your experience at the club.
I would like to thank all of you who completed the Annual and NPS (Net Promoter Score) surveys this month. We have already been utilizing the annual survey within each department to incorporate incremental changes for immediate impact. Other feedback will be incorporate this year and in future years as we plan our long-term goals for WCC. The NPS survey results have been outstanding. Winchester CC has always been at the top of the Landscapes portfolio private clubs with our scores hovering around 60-61 range. Just for comparison, Chick-Fil-A is typically in the 62-64 range. This December, WCC achieved an NPS score of 71, crushing all previous scores and increasing by nearly 11 points since our last check-in. You all should feel tremendous pride in the club we are all part of.
Thank you for supporting the direction we are heading in. I look forward to seeing you all at the club.

FISH AWARD WINNER
Carl Westcoat - Banquet Chef
This December WCC set a record in F&B and banquet sales for the month of December by a staggering amount. The man that made mostly all of the food for each and every event is one man, Carl Westcoat.
Carl has been a staple at WCC for the better part of 2 decades and has stuck with us through the best and worst of times. He is an invaluable piece to the puzzle and is the unsung hero behind a lot of what we all enjoy here. It is likely most of you haven’t met him or know what Carl looks like, but please know that he takes care of us all at one point or another.
Thank you Carl for always being there for us and our members at WCC.

BART’S CORNER
Dear membership
Wishing everyone a happy new year. I would like to take a moment to update you on some up-and-coming maintenance work that will be performed over the next couple of months. Sand trap renovation will be a part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the playing experience and maintain the high standards of our course. We will conduct sand trap renovations to various traps that have been identified. This work will involve restoring the sand traps to their optimal conditions ensuring consistent sand quality and proper drainage. Our grounds crew will be working diligently to complete these projects efficiently and with minimal disruption to the course. In addition to the sand trap renovation, we have identified several trees throughout the course that require attention our team will be performing tree work to ensure the health safety and overall aesthetics of the course which may involve pruning trimming or in some cases removal of trees that pose a risk to golfers or property.
Thank you for your ongoing support. I look forward to seeing you on the greens soon.
Thank you,
Bart
Daisy’s Diary
Dear Diary,
Happy New Year! The holiday season at WCC was absolutely tail-wagging fantastic! First things first - the geese have officially left the building and it's been peaceful and quiet, just the way I like my patrols.
Christmas was a barking blast! The clubhouse was decked out with the most paw-some decorations, and the smell of yummy treats was always in the air. I got to rip open my presents (shredding wrapping paper is a dog's dream!), and oh boy, did I get spoiled! New toys, delicious treats, and even a cozy new bed. I must have been a very good girl this year!
But the real highlight? Staying up way past my bedtime on New Year's Eve! There were so many sparkly lights and happy humans. I may have snuck in a few extra treats – but hey, it's not every day we welcome a new year, right? I tried to bark along with the countdown, but I think I got a little too excited and started a bit early. When the clock struck midnight, I was all wagged out but so happy to be surrounded by my favorite humans.
Now, as we step into the new year, I'm ready for all the adventures 2024 has in store. More patrols, more fun, and hopefully more treats (a dog can dream)!
❤️ Daisy
