February 2024
A Letter from our General Manager
Hello All,
As we leave behind our club's centennial year, we look forward to the arrival of spring in this new year, along with the warmer days it brings. This January has been particularly cold, but we've kept busy at WCC with the launch of our new club website. It features both new and familiar content in a format that's more fluid and user-friendly. In addition to its fresh look, we have published the club's complete social, golf, and tennis calendars for the entire year, including the functionality to add events directly to your personal calendar. We hope this enhancement will allow our members to plan ahead and ensure that no one misses any of their favorite club events.
We're also excited to announce the return of the WCC Member Business Network, a feature many of you have been looking forward to. Under our previous website architecture, maintaining and updating the business roster was too labor-intensive. Our new website resolves this issue. We're also preparing to introduce more features soon, starting with the new dining reservation system, which is just days away from launch. The process will initially feel new and is similar to platforms like OpenTable, Yelp, or Toast for making dining reservations. Our service, Tock, will offer a comparable experience. There's a one-time profile setup process, but after that, it will automatically populate your personal information each time, streamlining the process. We have many more updates and features planned for 2024, so stay tuned!
Lastly, many of you have noticed that our web address and emails are now coming from a new domain: wcc1923.com. This transition from a less desirable '.net' address to a '.com' domain positions WCC more favorably in the online world. To illustrate the impact of this change, consider this: In all of 2023, our winchestercountryclub.net website received 32,000 unique visitors. Under the new website and domain, wcc1923.com attracted 52,000 unique visitors in just its first month. We are witnessing higher traffic, increased site usage, and record-high event registrations. To say we are thrilled would be an understatement. We will maintain both web addresses and email extensions for at least the next 12-18 months, so there's no rush to memorize anything new. We will communicate any updates about a potential shutdown of the old addresses to our membership in a timely manner.
That's it for now! I'm looking forward to warmer temperatures and seeing all of you at the club in 2024!Steve

BART’S CORNER
Greetings!
As we enter the month of February, we find ourselves at the peak of the winter season, with that being said it is crucial to keep you all informed about the impact rain and snow have on our club and its operations. As much as we all appreciate the picturesque winter wonderland snow can disrupt some of our regular activities.
Our team will be working hard to clear snow from the important areas such as the entrance parking lots and pathways to ensure easy access for all our members. However, please bear with us if there are any delays or temporary closures due to snowfall. Safety is our utmost priority and will always prioritize the wellbeing of our members.
Also due to the unpredictable weather conditions primarily snow and rain there may be some delays in the completion of work on tree removal and bunker restoration. We kindly ask for your understanding and patience during this time.-Bart
Golf Course Superintendent
Daisy’s Diary

Dear Diary,
What a month it's been at Winchester Country Club! Remember all that snow I was so excited about? Well, it's all melted away now, but the memories of leaping and bounding through those chilly, fluffy piles will stick with me like a burr on fur.
But, Diary, I made a surprising discovery – goose prints! Those sneaky birds must have had a secret snow party before it all disappeared. So, back to Daisy the Defender, I went, patrolling the grounds with my nose to the ground, ensuring those feathery visitors knew this was my turf.
And amidst my goose-chasing duties, something beautiful caught my eye one morning – a breathtaking rainbow stretching right over the club. It was like the sky was smiling down on me, painting a masterpiece with all the colors of the palette. I just sat there, tail wagging, feeling so lucky to witness such splendor. It was a pawsome reminder that even after the coldest, snowiest days, something wonderful can emerge.
Now, Diary, there's a new buzz around the club – Valentine’s Day! The humans are planning all sorts of lovely events. There's Galentine's, where the ladies gather and giggle (I hope they drop a treat or two for me), a romantic Valentine's Dinner for Two (I'll be keeping an eye out for any stray bits of steak), a Valentine's Tennis Social that sounds like a ball of fun, and the sweetest of them all, the Father Daughter Dance. I can’t wait to see all the pretty dresses and shiny shoes. Maybe I’ll get a Valentine's treat or a dance myself!
So here’s to a month of melted snow, surprise goose prints, rainbow wonders, and love-filled celebrations. I’m ready for whatever adventure comes wagging my way next!Daisy 🐾
